Description: Hunters serve one of the most basic functions in the clowders, to hunt and catch food to bring back and sell. Originally, this was a simple process, but as the clowders have grown their duties have as well become more complex. Hunters not only catch food, but have the dirty job of skinning the prey, gutting them, and preparing cuts of meat. Animal skins are very popular, and are typically sold in bulk by the hunter's guild (usually to the crafter's guild) or by the hunter themselves to individuals, where it goes on to make beds, dolls, clothing, and anything else one could imagine. Meat cuts are sold to cooks to prepare into dishes, or directly to individuals for them to prepare at home. Hunter's stocks, being the main source of food and base for most cook's meals in most clowders except Blue Lake, are always in high demand.

History: Hunters have been around since the dawn of the clowders, and have been an incredibly integral part of the community since their inception. They perform an incredibly important function and serve as the backbone of the clowders. Originally during the time that jobs were assigned by the leader of the clowder instead of chosen out of free will, the strongest and fastest were chosen to be hunters, and they would bring back food for the whole clowder to share, as there was once a time when they were so small such a thing was possible. As the clowders grew and society evolved, they remained a very important role to this very day.

Trivia:
 • Hunter is a very popular choice for jobs as cats can not only hunt to sell, but can keep some of what they catch to eat
 • Hunters are the oldest recorded job in the clowders, and were the first to be recognized not as an assigned rank, but as a chosen job

Description: Scouts are just as imperative to each Clowders' survival as are the Hunters. In fact, the two groups often work with one another in order to get their jobs done. Scouts are the cats of the Clowder who survey the extensive land of the Clowders and check for dangers as well as points of interest. Their main function is similar to that of a border patrol- Scouts make sure that nobody is trying to invade and keep watch for predatory animals such as bears. They often work with Hunters in their day to day lives, helping them by looking for any possible perils as well as keeping track of animal migration.

History: Scouts were one of the first functions introduced to the Clowders and have since been one of the most necessary and vital jobs. First created to ensure that their borders and land were free of peril, the first Scouts patrolled and alerted the early Fighters as well as the rest of the Clowder of any potential threat. These leader-chosen Scouts were said to have the sharpest eyes and most acute senses, able to glide through territories without a sound. Eventually, Scouts began trekking alongside Hunters to warn them of any danger and began tracking the migration of different animal migrations. Although the Clowders have advanced and grown, Scouts are still just as essential as they were when first contrived.

 • Cats who have great dexterity and pay attention to detail have been said to be wonderful Scouts
 • Because they work together so often, many Hunters and Scouts become swift friends- some cats have even met their future lover or spouse through knowing each other through work
 • It's been rumored that sometimes (although very rarely) Scouts have been used as spies, though this has never been substantiated

Description: Farmers are the backbone of the clowders. They grow the various vegetables and fruits required in the everyday diet of clowder cats. Though the job isn’t very glamorous or heroic, very few cats will outwardly dismiss the importance of farmers in the clowders. Many farmers are descended from families who have been farming for generations. They are proud of their farms and will often encourage their children to take their farms when they are too old to continue their work.
History: Farmers began cropping up several years after Great Oma’s ascension, but long before Dullpines was established. No singular cat can be credited for starting the trend since farming seemed to begin in several different locations at around the same time. Sages believe that the desire to have a reliable source for herbs and spices encouraged cats to begin planting the seeds from desirable plants.

Description: Fighters serve as the military force of the clowders. Fighters typically join the guild at a very young age, and train for most of their latter childhood and into their early adulthood to hone their abilities. Fighters are honorable warriors who train to loyally serve their clowders if ever needed on the field of battle. While modern-day fighters don't typically see much direct field action, their skills and training are highly coveted for use in other jobs.

History: When the clowders were small during the time of Oma, a fighter's guild was not necessary. However, swiftly following the passing of the god from her mortal to her deity form, the clowders began to rapidly expand in size, eventually breaking off from each other and forming their own unique factions. From this expansion, however, came great tension as clowders were forced to fight over what was then very small patches of land, and so the primaries of each clowder organized a militia to defend the land they held and to overtake the land they desired from others. Even as the clowders settled into a more peaceful, if somewhat tense, union with each other, they all still maintain their fighters for different reasons. In modern times, fighters are often utilized as a self-defense unit against outside threats. They are often paired with scouts during expeditions to protect them from any potential threats they find around the borders. Additionally, the military training learned by fighters is useful for those who retire and wish to seek another job. Peacekeepers in particular value the years of experience, and a retired fighter has the opportunity of becoming a good sellclaw.

Trivia:
 • The most recently utilized fighter's guild were the Dullpines and Deepwoods guilds. During the Redblood rebellion the clowders were forced to fight to keep their territory, however both were eventually unsuccessful and they lost a good part of the territory, which is where Redblood now resides.
 • Redblood is unique from all the other clowders in that every cat who lives there is required to join the fighter's guild for two years before beginning any other job path. Due to their very small size and bad disposition of Redblood with other clowders, especially with giants like Dullpines and Deepwoods against them, they cannot afford to have a small fighter's guild.

Description: Moonlighters are the force of all-female medical professionals who specialize in the field of pregnancy, birth, women's health and the health of children and babies, and are the ones responsible for taking care of queens before and after delivering children. Moonlighters also raise orphaned children and take in children whose parents either do not want or cannot care for them.

History: The first moonlighters began as a group of female healers and medics who would spend their time between work focusing on the health of queens and kittens. The small group began to specialize even more, and eventually peacefully split away from the healers to focus on their own pursuits. They briefly collaborated with the healers from other clowders and even the sages to collect as much knowledge as possible about health complications and problems that arise from pregnancy and the best ways to care for newborn babies and their mothers, but they found the best advice they could get was from cats that had been mothers themselves. Soon it became a requirement for all moonlighters to have once had children themselves so that they knew exactly what it was like and what it was supposed to feel like so they could even more accurately help a new mother if something was not going correctly.

Trivia:
 • Moonlighters are sometimes called "moonlight warriors" by other cats due to them often working extremely long hours and being active all day and night to deal with the delivery of children and caring for the mother for anywhere from hours to days afterwards
 • Some moonlighters choose to never stop nursing kittens, so even months or years after their own litters are born and grown they are able to be a wet nurse for any kittens that might need it
 • Moonlighter camps are very large, beautifully decorated gardens dotted with and surrounded by homes that the orphaned children and moonlighters who are on-duty live in. While moonlighters do not actually live on the moonlighter gardens, hours for moonlighters are demanding, and it is a common joke among moonlighters that they might as well live in their camp-home.
 • Moonlighter gardens also considered very optimal places to give birth, as the mother will have access to the expertise of many, many moonlighters as well as their beauty and usually very exotic gardening making for some very beautiful baby names.

Magpie’s Followers: Successfully stealing a valuable item from a stranger.
 
Description:
Outlaws are considered the lowest of the low. Wild and dangerous, these ruffians will steal anything they can get their paws on. Some travel in groups, raiding any lone merchant carts or poorly placed homes that happen to be a little too far from the rest of their community. Some outlaws travel alone, choosing to become con artists or simple thieves who swipe whatever they can get their paws on.
Magpie’s followers are a little different from the average outlaw. They’re an organization

that’s spread throughout the entirety of the clowders. They follow and almost worship an elusive cat simply known as The Magpie. Magpie’s followers will steal valuable items and

sell them to merchants who associate with the organization. There are a multitude of Magpie safehouses and networks across the clowders that these cats may utilize to safely travel and around the clowders, and most are fiercely loyal to Magpie and their fellow thieves. All of Magpie’s followers get a tattoo featuring Magpie's symbol in a discreet location (usually their inner arm or under their chin) to show their loyalty.
History: Historically, the clowders began as a bunch outlaws and exiles scattered across barren lands before Oma banded them together. Though there was a golden period during Great Oma’s rule where crime was virtually nonexistent, it did not last long after her ascension.
The Magpie came to be shortly after Dullpines was established. They began in a small Deepwoods community and continued to spread their influence. It is rumored that The Magpie worshipped Enkel whe raised them to a godlike status. They have existed throughout the generations, changing their gender and appearance through mysterious magical means, but never their goal.

 • Most outlaws start as soft paws.

Description: The Newsrunners are the lifeblood of communication for the Clowders. They carry messages as far as from different Clowders to as close as the same community. The Newsrunners must memorize dozens of messages for each trip and they often will recite them to themselves at night. Because of this, the Newsrunners have a very sharp memory. The Newsrunners may also carry small objects with them to deliver as well.

Because of their immense importance in the Clowders, it is agreed by all Clowders that Newsrunners should not be harmed or prevented from delivering their messages in any way. There is even an old tale told by the Clowders of a Newsrunner bearing a message of peace was ambushed resulting in the conflict and deaths between the Clowders to persist long after it was meant to. As such they are protected by all Clowders and attacking one is seen as a serious crime. To help identify themselves, the Newsrunners are required to wear a uniform consisting of a particular feathered hat and a buttoned cloak.

History:
 No one can agree on the exact history of newsrunners. They seem to have just formed organically from the need for messengers.
 
Trivia:
 • It's important to note that the Newsrunners (like all cats in the Clowders with only the Sages as an exception) cannot read nor write. As such they must memorize all worded messages.
