What Is A Blessing?

In the universe of Vagrant Stars, the most powerful deity, Oma, will give small rewards to her followers as a gift for their loyalty and dedication to her. In order to gain a blessing from her, cats usually only have to ask while leaving a small offering at her alter. She listens to every prayer and will happily oblige those who are bold enough to simply come forth and ask her for a favor.

Great Oma figurines are small wooden statues of the grand deity herself. They are always finely crafted and as accurate to the actual Oma as possible (it wouldn't do to disrespect her with a bad figurine!).

Often times, one will see small piles of stobs stacked on top of and around the figurine. These are offerings left by cats to appease Great Oma.

Blessings are not just an interesting piece of lore though! They also serve as a mechanical function within the group. They allow your cats to gain strange physical altercations that would not normally be allowed on normal cats, such as small wings, webbed paws, black sclera, etc.

How do you give your cat a blessing? Simple! Firstly, you must know the rules of blessings.

- You may only purchase ONE blessing per month. Blessings are counted by user, not be cat. So no matter how many characters you have, you may still only purchase one blessing a month.

- Standard blessings cost 20 stobs, and that amount will be removed from the cat who will be receiving the blessing, so be sure to have enough in their personal balance!

- Make sure to follow example images for blessings closely.

- You may remove blessings from a cat, but they are nonrefundable. Be sure to think hard about who you would like to apply them to!

- Blessings may only be applied to adults. Children and teens who do not have their own balance may not have them applied.

Now that you've read the rules, all you have to do is send your request in the #blessings channel in our Discord server!

Cat: [Name of the cat who will receive the blessing]

Blessing: [The blessing you will be applying to them]

Once approved, 20 stobs will be removed from that cat's balance and they will have the blessing applied to them. Once a cat has a blessing, they have it permanently. However, this does not mean they need to be drawn with it. If you feel a blessing no longer fits a cat, you can feel free to stop drawing it on them, however we will never remove it from the tracker.

Blessings For Children

But wait, blessings are only allowed to be purchased for adults, right? That's correct and we're glad you're reading! However, there is a way for children to gain blessings from Oma.

If a couple has decided to have children, they may pray for the litter before it it born. This will add an extra 50 stobs to the cost, however there are quite a few benefits to doing this.

PRAYING FOR YOUR CHILDREN AUTOMATICALLY ENTERS THE LITTER FOR LEGACY MODE BREEDING!

This means that the mod who is rolling your litter will proceed with what is listed down below:

-The fertility of both cats will be rolled, which will be a large factor in the number of children.

- Several different blessings will be rolled, including exclusive ones that can only be attained through breeding.

- Other little quirks will be rolled for that aren't blessings, but are interesting oooo.

So, what are the pros and cons of Legacy Mode Breeding?

We'll list them now.

Pros of Legacy Mode:

- You may have more children in a litter than what is allowed in normal breeding.

- Your children will inherit blessings and other things.

- You may get breeding exclusive blessings!

Cons of Legacy Mode:

- You may have very few children

- Children are able to be stillborn/die shortly after birth with Legacy Mode

- It costs extra stobs.
