Mimites

Within the clowders, mimites are generally considered a pest. However, due to their adorable appearance, many cats like to keep orphaned mimites as pets. Though the morality of breeding and selling mimites is questionable for it requires a colony to be orphaned most times, the practice is legal within the clowders and mimites are among one of the most popular pets to keep.

Mechanically, you are able to buy mimites from the Mysterious Merchant for your cat. Because you are allowed to design your own mimites once you buy one, we have provided a detailed guide below for how to make one.

Mimite Anatomy

Mimites are very small creatures that live in every clowder. Their bodies are normally very round and chubby with four stocky legs (each ending in four clawed toes) sprouting from it. Their long and thin tail helps them to balance and is very flexible. Every mimite also has webbing on the back of its front legs, though it seems to serve no purpose for mimites are flightless creatures.

ANATOMY NOTES

Mimite 'wings' are attached to the backs of their front legs. This webbing does not attach to any other part of their body.

Mimites commonly have black beady eyes. They can have anywhere from one to eight eyes on their face!

Mimite tails are long with a tuft of fur on the end. Female mimites have larger tufts than males.

Mimites have long ears with a notch towards the bottom. Because of breeding, domestic mimite ears tend to have a little more variation with more notches and even tufts of fur on the top of their ear. Most wild mimites have ears much like the first example. It's considered to be a default and somewhat boring.

Diet

Mimites are omnivores, however tend to favor berries and plants over meat. Mimites in the wild are almost completely herbivores. Domesticated ones tend to be slightly more carnivorous since cats simply feed them leftovers from their own meals.

Generally, for the healthiest possible mimite, it's best to plant a tiu-tiu bush nearby and allow them to feed from that. Mimites loves tiu-tiu leaves and berries.

For meat, it's best to give them either venison or rabbit. If one lives in Blue Lake where the most abundant meat is fish, be sure to debone it before feeding it to them!

RARE MIMITES

Traits that appear less commonly in mimites are brightly colored fur and colored pupils. A popular variation of these traits is the albino mimite. Rarer mimites tend to come in oranges, pale yellows, and more reddish browns. Basically, anything that would still be valid on a cat.
